Pediatrics is the medical specialty that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions encountered in children from birth to 18 years.

The pediatrician's consultation may include:

- assessment of weight, height, cranial perimeter, etc.;

- checking the skin, ears, oral cavity, eyes, joints, genitals, limbs;

- recommending ultrasounds;

- tracking the appearance of teeth, giving advice for their care;

- recommendations regarding diversification/nutrition;

- recommending the performance of laboratory analyses/tests;

- monitoring physical and neuropsychic development;
